Additional Help
There's a reason - or many reasons - the Sunshine Coast is such a popular community within Coastal British Columbia. On top of the proximity to Vancouver for jobs, shopping, entertainment, universities, urban health care and the International Airport, the Sunshine Coast's relative isolation means a very different quality of life compared to other communities within a similar distance from the downtown core of the city.
The Sunshine Coast offers the best in small town life, like small schools and a variety in curriculum and teaching styles; an expanding and technologically developing hospital (St. Mary's), Capilano College and regionally and community-based training programs, expanding shopping opportunities making it less and less necessary to go to Vancouver for most items, a huge arts and cultural community, and of course an environment that is second to none for quality of life. Fresh air, ocean breezes, easy access to the water, and a wide variety of recreational opportunities.
For housing, real estate on the Sunshine Coast ranges from single family dwellings on large lots and acreages, to new subdivisions, to condominium properties, and many waterfront and oceanview development areas offering lots or lots with newly built homes that eclipse anywhere else in British Columbia for views and ocean frontage.
Rental housing is available as well, in apartment complexes, condominium communities, and residential homes (there are many properties available for long-term lease over the shoulder and winter seasons as those property owners who run vacation rentals over the summer prefer monthly tenants in the off-season).
